While I'm sure you want to replace the one you've broken/mangled/whatever...

The need may not be quite as urgent as you think...

Many cars have been running for years without them.

Thanks guys, turns out I just needed to pull finger and do a bit of hard work to get it sorted, Now for the embarrassing confession, if you think it would look good to paint you heat shield, and you paint says “ultra high temp with ceramic resins blaa blaa blaa”
Just don’t do it, it will smell, it will smoke, it will not look pretty.

With plans to do 1700 km this weekend I just did not want to risk a pesky engine bay fire.

Thanks again

Neil.

Haha paint the shield to impress your mechanic?

At least you didn't try painting your turbo or headers ;)

I can attest to that, once the mounting nuts break off on the standard exhaust you soon get sick of the rattling noise....
