Post by coxie » Thu Oct 18, 2012 2:40 pm

Have a 2001 NB 1.8 doesnt happen every take off but more offen than not I get a shuddering, once the cars moving no shuddering n never any clutch slip; Have checked engine n gearbox mounts n they seem ok, jst bout read every Forum issue on clutch issues n no one seems 2 have had a similar issue sum one did tell me that that was an issue with the 1.8 and my model and fitting a new clutch may not remedy the problem "jst live with it" any thorts ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated

Could be the pressure plate, my NA6 had a very slight shudder once in a while.
Just my had clutch done and it turns out the previous owner must have only had the clutch plate changed! The pressure plate was a different brand and pretty shagged - fingers bent, hairline cracks etc
Its so fecking good now! Feels like a different car.
