C12 MX5 Supercharger kit on trade me

Post by warrior » Tue May 08, 2012 9:19 pm

Hi guys, anyone have one of these fitted? I have driven the car in the pictures on trade me and it goes very well. It does not have a huge amount of power but is very smooth and feels like a much bigger engine. I would guess it gives 50-60hp over standard. I am looking at going ahead with this kit and would love to know if anyone has one fitted.

Help, ideas.............

Do you mean the S12 superchargers off toyotas? The guy located in Tauranga? I believe a member from here went and checked out the kit. His opinion was that the build quality left a lot to be desired.

Yeah, didn't look that flash and for $2800 I reckon you can do a lot!
I might use them for supplying a Megasquirt though, seems quite reasonable.
But a self made turbo kit including MS could be had for considerably less!

These are the only people I would buy a MS off
http://www.diyautotune.com/

There are people selling MS on Trademe and using an MS1 board and V2 processor which is very outdated now

Full PNP MS2 with PCB 3.0 (I think might be 3.57) is about $1000
Thats not bad for a full Plug and Play ECU

best place to get one is actually: http://m.miataturbo.net/showthread.php?t=14598
Braineack is the man, $590 USD is not bad with shipping of say $20 USD it works out about $760 NZD landed!
I'm still in two minds at the mo, I will probably just get Braineacks one as he gives good backup too, even if he is the other side of the world...
His units have a good background too, so you know what you are getting and its abilities. TeamJelly's (Trademe) might not be as good when you look into it?
