How big is yours?
I am going to install a intercooler on my supercharged mx5 (sorry chris) and was wanting some advice.
I will be going on the small size as I have read that increasing the volume may hurt the idle and response on a s/c engine.
My question is what size cooler do you guys have and where did you get them from?

Not sure if this is helpful or not since I have zero knowledge on this topic but I guess not that big?
I'm strangely drawn to this supercharger here... http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=519345 It's similar to mine but intercooled (I think I now have a stupid dream where I get a custom manifold made up to incorporate an intercooler... lotto....) plus his is smaller and there are waaaay too many wires and clutter going on right there.
Anyway, looking at his it's pretty small with a fan and reduced radiator but like I said, zero knowledge on this topic but I find this very attractive

A Suby water-air intercooler from one of the older Legacy's is pretty hard to go past for value
If you're in Auckland you could swing by and check out the (uninstalled) one I have if you like.

Haha! Just saw this.
Dude, in situations like this, totally understandable

Smaller the better - should be able to shoot for 12psi with a decent cooler setup

Ok, been doing a lot of research on what type on intercooling I will do.
It looks like air/air will affect the idle on my car badly if I cant go to short pipes leading to the intercooler. This is going to be hard to do.
Looked at air/water and would be a lot easier to do but will cost a lot more too.
I am now looking at water injection. I have found a good priced kit in the states. It is easy to fit, cost effective and the only down side I can see is that I will have to keep filling the tank.
My car is only a weekender so that's not a big problem.
Anyone out there used or has water injection? ideas?

Have just ordered my water injection kit. After a lot of research and thought I have decided to go with this.
It will cost about the same as a air/air intercooler, maybe a bit less. Will only take about 2-3 hours to set up and I wont have to worry about idle issues and lag.
I will report back once fitted and tested.

water injection
BUMP ! How r u getting on Warrior ? I can't b the only person on this site curious about how well it works ? Very well I'm guessing. Iv made 1 4 a naturally aspirated 4x4 and it worked very well. Ran like a cold wet day all the time ! - Try this - when ur hairs wet, grab ur Mrs hair dryer and feel how cold ur swede feels even though the air coming out is bloody hot ! Gotta b good 4 induction air. :-). P.S. Using Meths works in ratios of from 4 water - 1 meths to 50/50. The meths breaks down the surface tention of the water

Hi, it is installed and I have it booked in on the dyno this time next week. I have put the water injection in and a larger crank pulley so I thought it would be a good time to get it all sorted.
I have not given it a boot full since these two things have been installed so I cant wait for it to be done.
The water injection was fairly easy to install and if it works like I think it will it will be cheaper, and for the supercharger, better than any other options for cooling I think.
I will report back in a week.
