Hey Guys,
I have recently acquired an MX5, and am very happy to be driving around in one (although am starting to get the hairdresser jokes!!).
About 3 weeks ago, I noticed a small crack in the Top Tank in the radiator

! I decided I would buy a new radiator all together, as the current one has probably been in the car since new! I purchased a radiator from overseas, and received it today. One question I have is, I noticed on the bottom of my stock radiator, there is a small pipe that comes from the bottom of the radiator. I have included a few pics of my new radiator, and the pipe on the old radiator.
Is anybody able to tell me what this pipe is for, as it is not on the new aftermarket radiator? I am starting to wonder whether I got the correct radiator!!
Any help would be much appreciated! Cheers

Oh, ignore last reply- can now see the pictures...
The "Radiator" with tube that you can see in the grille of the car is not the radiator at all. What you can see is the air conditioning condenser. The radiator is fitted behind the condenser, you cannot see it through the grille...

Thanks so much for your reply on this one! Good to know that I haven't purchased an incorrect radiator!
I have checked your profile, and I must say you have the best MX5 I have seen to date. Wouldn't mind having that sort of power under the hood!
Cheers

Interesting looking radiator. Where did you get it from?

Might pay to check your radiator top hose because they harden over time and thats what usually cracks the radiator. If your hose is still soft when you squeeze it it should be ok!

Cheers for that WideOpenThrottle, will check this out and make sure the pipes not hard! It is an interesting radiator, I purchased it from an overseas site as I thought it may be best to get a full aluminum radiator. It really is quite light as well!! Will let you know how I get on with it
