CHEAP painting
Just thought I would let you guys know, STREETS (one of the on-line sales vouches places) have deals on painting, has about 8-9 hours left.
I just got a voucher to paint my front bumper for $99.
There are other deals for other panels on there as well.
Worth a look?

I am entirely with Cole on this one. When it comes to paint, a shit job stands out for the wrong reasons.sprsta wrote:I have seen some of the stuff that's come from that 0800bestdeal shop and i'm sure this Emmanual place isn't any better
All i will say is you get what you pay for when it comes to panel and paint
I'm going to guess that they don't do much prep. Bumper off, nail it with paint, bumper back on.

After seeing your bumper the other day i thought that this is a economical option t overcome its present appearance.... Good idea to do some initial prep work on it yourself. As you say its only a tank of gas. I have followed that theory with a few purchases recently and they have all turned out trumps for me and not been a let down..... Its only money and when you go to work there is always another 'brown envelope' the following week...( i know you are of the vintage to remember pay packets before the advent of direct credit)warrior wrote:The way i look at it is my front bumper,s paint is stuffed. For $99 i dont think i can go to much wrong. Its a tank of gas

usually whenever we get someone who has 'had a go' at doing their own repairs or paint prep we will completely redo it (usually dont tell them) so we know that it has been done correctly, it doesn't take much and that nice shiny paint will flake off an look worse than it was to start with.MrGrey wrote:a good paint job is mostly in the prep... I would personally remove the bumper and do the initial sanding and minor filling work yourself and then take it in to be painted.
Even by doing the prepwork yourself it is still a bloody good deal
i often get people ask what they can do to make it easier for me, there is only one answer and its nothing.

fair point... I have been doing a lot of painting and prep'ing in the renovation work I have been doing and there is a lot of skill and technique involved.... it is no way near as easy as the paint advertisements on TV purport them to be...usually whenever we get someone who has 'had a go' at doing their own repairs or paint prep we will completely redo it (usually dont tell them) so we know that it has been done correctly, it doesn't take much and that nice shiny paint will flake off an look worse than it was to start with.
and in unrelated news....... the Warriors have signed a new 'head' coach. Is this konrad hurrell?
