3rd gear Syncro & Rear Window cleaning

Hi there
Just a couple of questions. Does any one know about what product is good for
cleaning the rear plastic window so it can be seen through easier please?
Secondly, any advice for fixing a 'grating' third gear syncro which occurs
on the change down from fourth to third (can be remedied by double
de-clutching). Ive tried changing to lighter gearbox oil and does not fix.
Any history of this with the 1990 BRG MX5s? (In the light of recent
discussions!) Anyone know of good MX5 mechanics in Tauranga area?

Last time I did it I washed it with soap and water on a soft cloth, then
polished it with Meguiar's Clear Plastic Polish. Seemed to do a good
job and was noticeably clearer.

But I just got a new soft top (thanks Westpac/Lumley Insurance!) and the
new window is beautifully clear...
