Hi all just worked out that it cost $275 for each way on the ferry for us to
attend the event, does any one know if it is cheaper to use the ferry at
different times of the day, does any one have any contacts that may be able
to do a discount for a group booking, any ideas any one.
Cheers
Karl

The cost on the Interislander does vary depending on the type of fare you
buy. It does not change with the time of day. For example, the standard (one
way) fare for a car and two adults is $270.00. The middle rate is $220.00
and the cheapest rate is $195.00. The dearest rate has a full refund, the
next rate refund is 50% and the cheapest rate there is no refund available.
There are special deals available sometimes but not normally over long
weekend periods.
It might be worth checking out Blue Bridge. Their fares are not listed on
their web site though.
Perhaps the club could approach the two companies with a view to some sort
of discount for members.
Many of us South Islanders would like to travel north for some of the events
we see listed, especially driver training days etc. but the ferry costs just
make it too expensive.
Do start saving now as we would like to see as many of you northerners at
the event. It will be a great weekend.
