As the big trip down to Manfeild is coming up in only a couple of weeks I am
wondering if anyone has made (or had made for them) a perspecs (?) style
windblocker. I did see one on a car with the individual roll bars that looked
as though someone had designed it themselves.
I think my roll bar is a bit different to others I have seen so thought maybe
one of the standard/manufactured ones might not fit - does anyone know of a
website where I could maybe look at some options or advise where they had
theirs made and what sort of cost was involved - I'm in Auckland.
Thanks

Thanks heaps Colin,
Yours looks very professional, maybe it was your car I saw at the gymkhana?? A friend has given me the name of a company in GI that I will check out tonight, hopefully if I print off your pic as an example they may be able to do something along the same lines.
Cheers,
Nix

Wind Blocker Query
Hi Nicky,
my car has style bars and a D.I.Y perspex wind blocker
on it, its held to the bars with velcro straps that
loop around the bars, if you made a cardboard template
of what youd like to have im sure you could get a
plastics place to make it up for no more than $50 .
See my website below for a pic of it, (page 4 i think)

Wind Blocker Query
Hi Glenn,
I was thinking along the same lines as you with the velcro straps to hold the blocker in place. I went to a plastics outfit in Glenn Innes and they measured up a HUGE windblocker (which having thought about now is probably a bit OTT)- don't want to feel like a goldfish
I don't have the style bars, just a big-ass black padded rollbar with a diagonal bar running through the middle of it - which is making it a bit more difficult to work out. I think I will have to do some research on what other people have done when I get to the big gathering.
Excellent website and thanks for the advice.

Not advertising - I just thought that some may find this useful. If I
have broken the rules of the forum by recommending a specific product,
please let me know (nicely), and I wont do it again.
Last night I installed sub frame bracing that I had sent over from
BrainStorm in the US.
Blimmin heck - what a difference. The car turns in so much better and
the front feels much more confident.
The parts were standard on the later MX5's and now I can see why. For a
cheap upgrade ($99USD if you buy front and rear + P&P), it really
changes the dynamics of the car.
I would really recommend this product to all with pre 94(?) cars.
The bracing itself was of a high quality and not the normal pipe with
flattened ends. The front unit was powder coated and the rear covered
in a tough plastic protective coating. All the holes lined up
perfectly, and the instructions were so accurate and simple (with
pictures), even I could install them.
