Driver training day...getting there

Hi all
I was just debating with her indoors about attending this event.
It's a long way to Manfeild from Auckland (8 hrs??), and I wondered if most (Auckland) folk were travelling all the way down on the Friday afternoon/evening or halfway on Friday eve, then splitting the journey (and getting up very early) to arrive at the venue on Saturday.
I'd be interested to know what you're all up to.

Hi Graham,

We made the trip down to Feilding in last year to watch the NZ Touring Car
finals.

Left Auckland around midday on a Friday and left in the afternoon on the
Sunday.

A tiring way to do it but always a lot of fun with top down.

Plan to do the same thing for the Manifield trip in a couple of weeks but
having an extra day off on Monday.

Hopefully we all meet up first in Auckland and travel in some form of convoy.

Hi; There are some of us meeting by the Shell service station in Cambridge
at 6pm.We plan to have dinner at the Shell truckstop in Turangi (that
served great food on the round the mountain run) at around 8.30.We could
meet others along the way and the times are easy.Its about 2 hours from
Turangi to Manfield.Ross.

has anyone received conformation of entry, or any more details about the
day, I sent in my entry, however what actual time will it start, etc.

also is anyone else going up from Wellington ? and are you keen on
travelling up together on the day ?

We are going up from Wellington (well actually Porirua) on the day.
