This is my reply to a recent thread
*******I did the same thing recently. I had that irritating knock from under the glove
box, and cured it by taping the bonnet catch (square loop under bonnet). The first time, I used
insulating tape, which lasted a week before it started again. Now I'm using a
cotton-y/nylon-y bandage tape and that, so far, is holding well.
Pretty much knock free at the minute...not bad for being green, eh Gazza? :0)***********
Maybe this may help with your rattle too.
cheers

I have a rattley bonnet on my newly aquired 5. She's a 1997 Limited. At
very low speeds, going over rough surfaces there is a clear rattle from the
front end - the bonnet presumably. Is this common? Or more importantly, it
is easily remedied?
