Yes you are right about the Potenzas, a great tyre and they just last and
last, As I said before, the one's on my BMW have done 90,000 with me driving
it, and I reckon they have at least 5-6000 left in them.
With what was done on them before I got the car, that's at least 100,000 km
on a powerful 1.750 tonne car!
Bridgestone are in danger of going broke, making tyres like that!

I have Potenza GIIIs on my MX5. I'm lucky to get over 40,000km out of a set.
Didn't think I was that hard on tyres! Must be all those lovely windy roads
I use here.
They are quiet and very good in the wet.

For those running Potenzas - what pressure are you using?

Actually, it is probably to do with the relative size of the tyres, the BMW
tyres are quite large, ( I can't be fagged looking to see what they are) but
at least 1.5 times the diameter of the MX5 tyres, thus each part of the tyre
only hits the road 66% as often as on the MX5, in travelling the same
distance. The tyre loading is probably well down on the BMW as well, because
there is usually only me in the car and I run the tyres at 28 PSI, BMW's
recommendation for that load
(Gee, that's not a bad theory for this time of the morning)!

FWIW I probably got less than 30kkms out of my last RE711s, but I have
quite a bit of camber in front, and they wear on the insides.

I'm running mine at 30psi. The wear is very even over the whole tyre and all
four wear at the same rate as well. Standard 14" wheels.

Hi Gang,
Yes,the G3 is a great tyre. I have a set on my MX5 and the handling is
supurb. I am the manager of Bridgestone/firestone at Auckland Airport and if
any club members want to upgrade to the Potenza G3 then please give me a
call on 275-0555 I will be happy to work out a special deal for you. They
are not as expensive as you think!
