mx5Some more info on the MX5 that Mazda Australia is showing at the Melborne
Motor Show - this is from the Melborne Age Newspaper.

Australians were the first to see the MX-5 yesterday, as the opening of the
Melbourne show was three hours ahead of its unveiling at the Geneva Motor
Show.
Mazda Australia is predicting a rush on showrooms as people see what the
company has done to the world's favourite sports car. The silver show car
was sent to Australia for official photographs ahead of its unveiling, and
was kept hidden at Mazda HQ.
"It's exactly the way the production cars will be, but it's actually a
hand-built prototype," Mazda Australia spokesman Alastair Doak says.
"We have had the car here for a while. All the global photography was done
around Victoria. It's all the media, advertising
and promotional material for all global markets.
"We don't want to think about what the car's worth. Fortunately, it has
survived all the work unscathed and that's why we can have it for the motor
show.
"This is the first time that Mazda in Japan has done stuff outside Japan for
an unreleased car. So that was pretty exciting."
But Mazda Australia won't talk prices. All Doak will say is "the price will
remain great value".
Delivery dates are also being kept under wraps, though the first cars could
arrive in October

Hi Chrissy,
I must admit I am not familiar with automatic gearboxes in general,
let alone the MX-5 one. Maybe others have more experience in this matter.

WiMHi! can you help me with a technical problem. I want
to know the >procedure for replacing the plastic bushes that go
on each side of the >gear selector . Common for them to wear on the
automatics. Can anyone >give me a detailed procedure as I have the bushes,
but don't want to >start until I know I can do it.
Thanks Chrissy
