Having just purchased an mx5 - I was wondering if there was a way of fitting
differing low line headlights so they dont flip up like startled rabbits. I
had a Honda Integra which had flip up lights but they were oblong ones so
didn't come up so high. Would they be a possible option - any thoughts
anyone? I am sure this is not an original question.

Firstly, welcome to the list, have you joined the club?
Trust me, you do get used to the lights and they cease to be the obstruction
that they seem to be when you first drive the car. However I have seen
pictures on the web of cars in the States with a smaller, four headlight, (2
in each pop up) set up which might solve your problem.
Others on the list might know where to find those pix, or the light units, I
can't remember. You might want to check the legality of it with LTSA before
you start looking though

PS - as an aside, when sending an email to the list please start a new
email rather than replying to an existing one (even if you change the
subject line & delete the text from the email). It stuffs up all the
nice threading (sorting) in the archives and some people's email
programs as it keeps the header info from the previous email(s). thx.

The headlights you mention are available, however they are REALLY,
REALLY expensive - I did some "googling" and found a couple of options
that were 300 GBP - plus shipping.
You do get used to the barn doors out the front - besides they are only
on at night when no one can see you anyway.

Thanks for all the info on lowered headlights - curious that they cost so
much! If one got a set I guess I would need to get them certified...
