Thanks to all those supplying info about battery drain.
I have a battery terminal mounted master switch, and am thinking of
fitting this and isolating the battery when the car is likely to be
unused for a couple of weeks or more. I figure the only thing I'll lose
is radio settings.
It also means the immobiliser will be deactivated, but as soon as any
villain reconnects the battery the immobiliser should kick in straight away.
I aim to fit the switch at the negative (earth) terminal. This enables
me to fit an earth strap to the existing earth point just ahead of the
battery, so no wires will need cutting. It also means the switch will
be safely tucked away behind the carpet trim that hides the battery.
Can anyone foresee any problems with this arrangement?
