Windblocker

Post by EricW » Sun Jul 31, 2005 3:52 pm

Hi guys

The windblocker on my car caused a bit of interest at the technical day today,
so, as promised, here is where you get one

http://www.lemansoriginalfabrics.com/index.htm

They are in Wellington and their service, when I bought it, was excellent. I
don't think it was particularly cheap though, $125 comes to mind

They do quite a lot of other automotive stuff, including MX5 canopies, tonneau
and boot covers.

I hope that helps.

By the way, I made an interesting discovery on the way home, Chivalry and good
manners are, of course, long dead, including that lovely, respectful gesture
of raising one's hat to a lady of your acquaintance.

You have to admit, however, that this gesture has style.

BUT, when performed "top down" at 110 km/h on the Northern Motorway, it is
just plain DUMB!

So if you happen to have picked up a somewhat battered "Logan" cap, somewhere
on the Northern this afternoon, I would not mind having it back!

Have a good night

Eric

Eric

I've gone to the site but see nothing about a wind-blocker. As I was not
at the event, is your wind-blocker installed on a "no-roll bar" car. It
would appear a majority of those inquiring about them have "behind the
seat" roll-bars.

William

Hi Bill,

It isn't the prettiest site you have ever been in, is it!

If you go to the site and click on "soft tops" on the left hand side, then
"Japanese" then "Mazda" you can scroll through the products they make for the
MX5. The windblocker is about half way down the list. It fits on the seat
backs

Regards

They must surely be mistaken! How anyone could possibly justify that price
for what is fitted to my car, I simply do not know!

I am sure that I paid $125, maybe Plus GST, and I thought at the time that the
price was a bit steep.

The price of the NA Boot Cover was about what they are quoting now, and that
was fairly consistent with other new prices I got at the time, (although the
NB Boot Cover was a lot cheaper) So how they justify a 300% increase beats
me.

I think we may have just introduced a new product to Paul's range. If you need
to see my blocker Paul, just give me a shout and you can get ideas from it, I
reckon that there is plenty of margin in about half of what they want!

Regards

Eric

Check the Aug/Sep topDown which is about to go out. There is an article re
making your own windblocker - not that Iam giving any pre warning about the
mag content.
