While you are at it Bill you might be so kind as to send me your neck
size, I will have the stiff neck collar prepared just in case I happen
to be on Ambulance that day. It will save time, although at 170 I do not
rate your chances, but hey, I'll see what I can do!

Put away the tape measure mate, as I wouldn't want to waste your time .

BTW, if you are a student as you claim, I might be forgiven for thinking
you'd learn a lot more, and perhaps get further ahead in life, by
investing more time on studying and less time having your life dominated
by adding messages to this list and which suggests having your life
centred around a car (even if it is a MX5) - the latter two which you
seem to have a propensity to do :-)

Rod

Suggest you check the list archives of the "attempted (with no success)
roast" which took place last January.

Answer: very easy in many remote and a few "not so remote" parts of the
South Island . (PS: I can send you a map of my "drive-about" - a
handful of list members have "discretely and privately" requested my
route) - Sorry I can't say who they are as that would betray confidences
and identify those on the list who are REAL sports car drivers! :-) Regards

LOL I will once again add this piece of advice to the other piece you
gave me not that long ago. That is if I haven't emptied my rubbish bin
already.

And actually, yes I am a student, 2nd year Paramedic, and yes I am on
break at present, and yes currently my life revolves around my car,
while it can and I am not under exam stress. But really, why shouldn't
it???

And maybe Bill, if you spent less time on here trying to cut everyone
down, or just being plain rude, then maybe you A) would have more people
that like you, and B) be able to do more work yourself.

PS: actually I gave up a successful sales career to study full time.

Insurance questions

Thanks Guys, especially Eric for his detailed response. I've even
enjoyed the err... Banter? :-)

I meant the perceived difference between imports and NZ supplied
cars as far as the ins co are concerned. In UK, many insurers will
happily insure a UK supplied car, but not an import. When they do
premiums are much higher. Probably due to the distributor claiming
that parts had to be imported from Japan. Now Mazda have the
distributorship, this is slowly changing, but many dealers still
make this claim and refuse to sell parts unless you can supply a UK
VIN number. Wondered if NZ was the same, but it seems not.

Insurance seems cheap. I'm 50 and live in a rural area of Surrey
considered very safe. I pay uk280 or around nz750 for my 2000 MkII
with a few minor mods. In Canada, I would pay over cdn4000 if it
were not for a dear Canadian friend who put it on her insurance with
me as a named driver :-) I'll have to find out if my no claims can
be transferred to NZ...

FM2 is a turbo kit supplied by Flying Miata in the states.
<http://www.flyinmiata.net/> Surprised that an Mx5 owner hadn't
heard of it, but maybe they're rare in NZ? Anyone know if they have
a distributor in NZ? The UK club insurer loads the premiums by 25%
for up to 200hp and 50% for over 200hp.

Hi Terry,

If you bring some documentary evidence of your claims history, from your
insurers, you should be able to negotiate a rebate with no problems. Of
course, if you are insuring things like house & contents with the same
company, that will help

I admit to an historic difficulty in accepting that any of my actions
should ever be governed by the conventions & expectations of others. I
have not un-enjoyed the combat. Thus I will not be losing sleep over
upsetting a few people.
