Technical Day ??

Post by Euen » Mon Jul 11, 2005 10:38 pm

MessageHi Nigel

I have been trying to find some info on the Technical Day but there doesn't
seem to be anything in Top Down or on the web site.

Can we have some details please.

Thanks
Euen

Hi Robyn & Rich. No there is not an inspection cover as such. You need to
take the rocker cover off to have a look at the belt. Milage travelled is
only one aspect to the timing belt needing to be changed. As it is a rubber
compound it will deteriorate with age etc anyway. Also the tension pulleys
may need to be replaced depending on the condition of them. It is a job you
can do yourself if you have a reasonable mechanical knowledge.
If you are in Auckland, there is a technical day end of this month that
would be worth attending to find out all about these sort of questions.

MessageHi Euen, now has details on web site as follows;
Technical Day 31-Jul-2005
Glynn from City Garage in Central Auckland has offered to run a
technical class (not TOO serious) but an event not to be missed! It will cover
basic maintenance, battery care etc and cars will be displayed on hoists for
better viewing. Although this is a Northern region event, it is open to anyone
from any region who wishes to attend.

The venue will be City Garage, 438 Queen Street (Behind Real Groovey
Records) and commencing on site at 10.00am. Parking is available nearby.

Approximately 2 hours instruction followed by a BBQ lunch.

Further details to follow.

Don't miss your opportunity to ask all those tricky questions!

Regards Nigel
