Hi people,

Excuse my ignorance but whats a MaXi5ac???
We are planning on going away in the mx5 in the new uni holidays,
anything that increases luggage space might be a good idea

Is that wise in that broken down old red thing...? ha ha...

It's a bag that fits on the back shelf, very good, available in a few
different variations and colours they are also on

Thanks for your concern Gazza, that's a good point, maybe we should
drive the Rav4 behind the mx5 =)

Hi Ken, give Paul Bryant a ring 09 412 9838. He has the bags available (makes
them himself). The quality is supurb and they are made in three different
styles depending on the actual model of your car. You can also have Roadster
embroided on it in the colour of your car. I have one and would not be
without it.

Cheers Nigel

I bought one of these from Paul recently, and they are a brilliant idea.
Extra storage, and low enough not to obscure the back window when the top is
up :-)

Hi Nigel - I have style bars on my car. Do you think the bag would still fit?

They do 3 options, one of these is "with style bar" so I'd say yes.

Hi Greg, if your car is a series one, then the bag he makes for the series two
should be ok as it is made to fit behind the built in windblocker.

Hi Greg

Paul actually makes them pretty much individually, and there are quite a
number of variations: NA without rear tower strut NAs with tower strut, both
with style bars, NBs with roll bars and pretty much any other combo you can
think of, Give him a call and he can tell you exactly what you need.

Regardless, the quality is excellent, the bag is extremly useful and I would
hate to try and make one for the price!

I'm sorry if I missed it in an earlier post, but is there an e-mail
address for this bloke?

The call from Australia might end up costing more than the bag!

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

The MaXi5ac that I mentioned that started all this actually came from Gordon
Tucker in Cambridge. He is contact for the Waikato chapter and you can
probably contact him on waikato@mx5club.org.nz
I'm using mine in my 1998 NB with factory windblocker and very pleased with
it. Don't know how it compares with the ones Paul has, but I imagine it is
very similar.

Gazza posted this url

note : the website wants $10 to "register you" before you can ask a
seller a question.

To all,

On Trade Me is a MX5 ECU from a New Zealand new MX5. Does anyone/everyone have
any opinion or experience with changing ECU units and what
advantages/disadvantages I am likely to face with my 1998 NB.
I expect I will no longer have the 180kph speed limiter, but what else?

David the link did not work for me, but the above seems to be right, maybe
there was a hiccup in my e-mail reception?

It does come in black. The one I got from Gordon is only available in black
with the MaXi5ac screen printed on it in white lettering.
The gear bag advertised on Trademe is from another advertiser but I assume
very similar.
