Hi, all
I did a driving course today down at the Pukekohe track today & found it an
illuminating experience. As it happened (due to company circumstances etc.)
it was the Ford one - however that really doesn't matter - I've also done
the Holden one in a former life.
Point is - it's a great opportunity to sharpen your own skills & learn more
about the dynamics of your car - albeit in slightly artificial
circumstances. I personally find it easy to get lulled into a sense of
security driving the MX5, in that it has pinpoint handling & is very
forgiving; there's certainly no doubt that it out-performed most other
vehicles on the track today. However, I wasn't perfect (dang !) ... and
a tune-up on some of the basics never hurts.
The club driver training days would also be a great opportunity to practice,
I'm sure (never having actually been able to get to one - dang again).
So if you ever get the chance to practice in a safe environment, take it.
Regards,
Greg
