Ed supplies the harnesses already made up that will plug directly in to the two sockets in the MX5. The othe ends of the wires are bared ready to connect to the similarly bared ends of the harness supplied by the radio manufacturer.

Ignition - Blu/Blk
Battery - Blu/Red
Earth - Make a new one is best.
Speakers Front
L+ Red/Wht
L- Red/Grn
R+ Blu
R- Blu/Yel
Speakers headrest
L+ Red/Blu OR Blu/Orange
L- Red/Yel
R+ Blu/Or OR Red/Blu
R- Blu/Wht
Power Areial LtGrn/Yel

There is also another option, Repco sells premade cables to got
between any aftermarket stereo and any car harness, you just get the
cable for each end and clip them together. And for ~$15 each its not a
bad price.
