Headlight air intakes

Post by poison » Sun May 22, 2005 7:33 pm

Hi

Has anyone put in one of those headlight air intake lids (possibly from MX5
mart), are they a good fit? or require much work? I have to get some paint
work done so now is as a good a time as any to get one.

Cheers

Headlight air intakes

Hi Gazza. I have one of the intake lids from Mx5mart. No problems to
fit. The plastic shroud around the lamp doesnt quite fit as well as
with the steel lid but its not too bad. The only thing I didnt like was
the mesh that was fibreglassed into the vent. It was rather agricultural
looking, so I cut it out and replaced it with better stuff. I also filed
out the vent hole a bit more. It works really well on my car as my pod
filter is directly behind the headlight, but I cant see it providing
much of a gain if you still have the factory airbox. Looks really good
though!!.
