My lights are out

My lights have been getting a bit dodgy on low beam - often
needing a stir of the stick to get them to go. Today they
just refused on low beam no matter what. High beam is still
OK but not popular with oncoming traffic.

Probably the switch thing right? Anybody had this happen?

What was the damage?
