Hi Eric,

I didn't know it was there either till a couple of weeks ago (Orewa is a nice spin on a sunny afternoon

)

Its on the right hand side of the main(?) street passed the Bendon shop and slightly up hill. There's a block of shops with secondhand baby stuff and a bakery/cafe - next door to there.

Hi All

I've got a 1:18 Gate BRG from the Warehouse about 5 years ago. They
have pretty good detail for around $50. I would really love a silver to
match the real thing so if someone ferrets them out please let me know.
If I can get a silver I would be happy to pass our BRG (always lounged
and regularly dusted) on to someone to match their 1:1 for a small fee.

I see Mr Models website only has blue and red in NA. The Warehouse had
red and blue a few months after we found the BRG but I never saw a
silver. Does anyone know if Gate do/did a silver?

Someone in a follow up post said their neighbor works at the Warehouse
(Eric?) maybe they can still source them although I think often their
minimum quantity is a container load!

Gate also produced the model in kitset form, one colour RED, which I painted yellow before assembly.

Have tried since to get additional supplies but the toy buyer there now does not seem to be interested.

Apparently the Warehouse had issues with the supplier Nigel. That,s what my
enquires revealed and that is why you don't see any other Gate models there.
Actually not long after this about 4 years ago I found 1/2 dozen Gate MX5s
in the bargain bin at the Rotorua Warehouse at $10 each. Needless to say I
bought all the different colours. But Gate are still available at most good
model shops both NA and NB. They quality is far superior to Kyoshi when
compared directly. There are a couple of European brands that make an
assortment of MX5s at 1/87 - real tiny and in perfect proprortion. I can't
recall the name but could look at my collection if anyone is interested. You
can locate a supplier of them on the net.

Also have the red kitset Gates NA, plus two NB's, one black with tan
interior -the other is the 10th anniversary blue. It even has the little
10am logo on the guard which makes me wonder whether it was the one
Mazda gave away to owner of the real 10am's.
