I have purchased some M style wheels for my 1990 from Trade me and have
had the polished. They look superb but before I put them on the car I
need to have the wheels lacquered.
Where did you get them polished? And how many $$ ?

Thanks

Look, just an idea, some of the more expensive cars, Mercs BMWs etc have
polished wheels that seem to last well. Why not ring up the service manager
of one of these dealerships and see what gets done to them.

I like the "Powder Coat idea, that might be what is on the wheels of my BMW,
and they look great, (when I can keep the brake dust off them).

Hi zorruno

Got them done at Stevenson's metal polishing in Hamilton.

Cost $110 + GST per wheel which included stripping the paint. They look
superb. It was a three week wait though.

Thanks Don, I've been considering doing that for a while.

Also have to add the cost of removing and mounting/balancing the tyres
too I suppose... so it is not a cheap exercise all up. Anyone had
prices for powdercoating wheels? I was thinking about the clear
powercoat route too.

Got photos?!

Cheers

I got mine powder coated in Silver. I think it was about $25 per wheel.

Hi zorruno

Will take some pics once on the car. I can't remember the
drill to get pics on the site. You might have to remind me
how I did it.

Cheers
