Alarm install in Wellington

Post by Ian Chapman » Mon Mar 21, 2005 4:18 pm

Has anyone had a good experience (or a bad so I know who to avoid) with
an alarm installation in Wellington recently?

We are wanting a reasonable one for our 1990 without going too crazy -
usual stuff: engine immobiliser, microwave, shock sensor (maybe not for
Wellington wind and traffic), glass break, add door lock solenoids for
central locking.

I would appreciate any feedback on product, quality of installation,
sorting out any adjustment issues, price etc.

Thanks

Ian

Had great service from Abtec Installations who run a mobile service at work
/ home etc.I had some intial problems with the Fusion system ( They no
longer do these due to reliability issues )but they were quick to sort with
two extra visits to home. Can't remember the price sorry.
The installer even used a magnet to pick up the drill waste under the hood
from the siren holes.

Ian

I used Car Stereo Company at 58 Kent Terrace, they also have a branch at 453
Hutt Road, Lower Hutt.

They recommended a Dynatron D7600 for my 1994. Total price was $900, this
included about $200 for making the doors central locking. Fitting was
completed inside one day.

When I got home I found the microwave was a bit too sensitive, only had to
walk past the car and the alarm went off. Rang the next day, took car in and
adjusted in 5 minutes. It was my own fault for not testing how sensitive it
was as I was in a rush to pick up the car.

Since then I have not had any false alarms, have left the car out with the
roof down with no problems. It does work as I have twice lent into the car
to pick up my sun hat and the alarm has gone off.

Regards

Ian,
At the risk of self advertising...
Can I suggest that you send me your tel number and I can give you a call.
Lots of info and suggestions. Including a number of places to receive
a superior installation.
What good security really is etc...
This isn't intended to upset anyone and I apologise if it has.

Cheers
Colin
