Hi Gazza,

It might have been my new wife and I you saw in the Merlot 5 on Tuesday. We
were returning from our honeymoon on the 8th - 9 days with the hood down
around Bay of Islands to Cape Rienga.

Only ours is the mk 1 Ltd. Tan leather interior, black hood, momo steering
wheel. We have the cheeky little spoiler on the back.

Whilst on our trips, my (new) wife and I were disappointed to note how few MX5
owners
waved at us. We was left feeling a little embarrassed everytime my (new) wife
and I put our hands up frantacally and waved to only be poo pooed.

Also, we saw our first 'green' 5. We passed it way up north and it was towing
a trailer. Regardless of how sad the sight was, we gave a wave and yes, no
response. (Credit to the man though - the hood was DOWN!!)

Anyway, could it have been the mkI you saw and not the mk II? I sure hope it
was us - I put that many K's on the clock in the last 10 days I hope we were
spotted at least once! And besides, our car is pure magic!
