Ministerial review of your licence

Post by Bill Rehm » Thu Jan 20, 2005 10:05 pm

I thought the list might be interested in knowing the extent that some
of its members believe they have the ordained right to play God, judge
and jury. Please find below an email I received this evening from Eric
West.

No doubt my critics will be "jumping for joy".

Regardless, I suspect it says more about Eric and his clan.
Unfortunately in the process, he has degraded this lists' communication
to some personal, vindictive, and self-righteous level --- comparable
only to the lack of integrity and the prejudicial beliefs prevalent
during the Holocaust period.

Eric: nothing like showing your "true colours" mate!

Regards
Bill

I don't believe it!

Eric for the sake of sanity drop it.

IF not:::: Eric you are a sanctimonious prat!

And you wonder why the old traffic cops were held in such low esteem, you
have done nothing to improve that old opinion, and if anything have further
endorsed the image of a power-hungry authoritarian dick, and the biggest
gang in NZ.

Until this episode I was of the opinion that Bill was a bit silly and had
made an error of judgement, but haven't we all at one time or another, all I
want was for the rubbish to stop. If this forum is no longer a free forum,
but one controlled by yourself you will find it a very lonely place after a
while, and for those of us who enjoy the camaraderie and free flow of
knowledge and opinion will go elsewhere.

But as you pointed out previously "what goes around comes around" and now
YOU have asked for it and I pray it comes soon and in SPADES!

Bill I've now taken sides, I'm on yours, free speech and mates helping mates
is far more important than feeding the urges of a retired (chucked out, not
good enough for the police force who knows or now cares) Gestapo.

Sorry Eric, you bought this on yourself, as if you give a dam, see ya.

Biff

I have not been reading the mail pertaining to this subject except for
this and one other well balanced view posted this pm. I feel I must
express my disappointment that members of this club should behave in
such an apparently petty manner. Even the fact of formerly being a
member of the NZ Internal Revenue Collection Service (hencefoward to be
known as the NZ-IRCS) does not excuse it in my mind.
Cheers all. :-[

Man - this is getting SOOO ugly.

Time Line (rough - very)

1 - Bill sends e-mail to forum describing a great sounding trip. Well written
demonstrating kindness to forum and fellow MX5 owners. Excersises poor
judgement with reference to drinking beer while driving and reaching speeds of
170ks.

2 - Forum responds. People indicate that they are displeased with Bills
exessive speeds.

3 - Comments on the type of beer Bill drinks. Evidently not NZ's first choise
of beer.

4 - First references to Bill killing people.

5 - The voice of those who have pulled dead, mangled people from car wrecks is
heard.

6 - The voice of those who have informed the deads relatives comes in even
stronger.

7 - (I write in and ask Bill if he is stupid - not for driving at those speeds
but for bragging about it in open forum)

8 - Bill continues to respond, things are beggining to indicate that tempers
are fraying even behind the various :) and ::- or whatevers.

9 - The voice of law enforcment enters stage left. Things are now turing
sour.

10 - Someone the Tsunami in the argument (oops! probably more bad judgement).
Well, now things are just a free for all. (btw, the tsunami was terrable but
I am more greived with Iraq. Maybe this is for another forum though).

11 - Bad language is used in the forum - Bring back the death penalty!

12 - Bill and his foes begin to e-mail each other direct and then cunningly
foward them onto the forum. (Yes, so we could suffer them also).

13 - Someone pipes up and talks about reporting Bill and having his driving
licience revoked. This for me, is where I stopped reading. So timeline is
terminated.

Bill - any chance of you showing just a little humility and offering an
appology - so the rest of us can learn more about the great and wonderful MX5
if nothing else? Please - I'll be yer best mate! (I'm not having a dig or
saying your wrong or anything - I'm like Colin Powell - the dove of the forum
- trying to pave the road map to peace).

I only joined this list a week or so ago. I love my new sparkley MX5 - and
none of this ranting and raving will make me swap if for a stupid Porche or
over stated Ferrari, no matter how hard you try. (not that I could afford
either of them anyway).

My car rocks - and I think MX5 owners do as well - when they are not on their
high horses. If someone does do some reporting and basically snitching to the
authorities I will be greived with one of the following - MX5 owners or Kiwis.
Or maybe it will be both. Its not how we do things where I come from!

Am I wrong?

I'm with you Alex. I've watched the list over the last year or so and
have been impressed with the enthusiasm and the commonality of the
reason why we all contribute... the love of a darn good driving
experience in one of the best cars ever produced. I've got to know the
styles of the Bills, the Colins, and more. There's been "Biffs" and
"Hoys!" occasionally (and they are all appreciated).
Can we just let the anger and reaction die down again... and get back
on track to sharing the passion we all enjoy... driving and owning an
MX5 (Mines red, manual, an NA... unmodified with no new chrome bits...
clearly a superior driving experience to all of you in your detuned
autos or heavy NBs... altho I do live in Auckland. The lid goes up
and down three times in a trip to the shops to get a new blade for my
hair dressing kit...

people)

It's a lovely day here in Marlborough, the sun is shining, no wind, not a
cloud in the sky, an ideal day for enjoying our MX5s. Please don't spoil it
with any more of these ugly messages!
I want to go out in my NA BRG automatic very slightly modified and not be
worried about whether I should read the list or not.
My driving experience might not be up to Keith's but at it is still most
enjoyable even after 55,000km in just over two years of ownership.
No, I'm not a hairdresser either (computer and communication tech.) and
would prefer to drive a manual!

It takes a certain type of person to be a traffic officer, and you Eric
have proven yourself to fit that profile. You comment has demonstrated
an appalling lack of character, or perhaps you are over compensating for
something. You do not belong on this forum.

On the other hand Bill, I would take a ride with you any time, sounds
like fun.

I look forward to your continued contribution.

Ah Grant... a kindred spirit. I'm also a computer thingy person...
teach Intermediate kids great stuff like photoshop and movie making. (I
drive a Mac therefore my computer driving experience is somewhat
similar to the MX5... high speed (oops!), bomb proof reliability and
joy in the experience... but enough) Its sunny! in Auckland! I shall
drive! I shall enjoy the wind in my rapidly thinning hair!
Have a great day

Geez Eric,
I'm reading this thread and getting more annoyed with
every message. Get a life, for pity's sake!
IMHO you're in such danger of going blind from self
abuse that I recommend a bit of introspection if
you're capable of the effort
Cheerio
