Seems like a lot of things are starting to require replacement on my 91 MX5
(first tires, now top rear window, next stereo and speakers).
Definitely need a new rear window for my top. Read a lot of opinions on
Miata.net regarding this. Anyone have personal experience (pos or neg) with
replacing the plastic window locally (Akld region) or replacing the plastic
with glass?
Thx in advance
Bill

Bill,
I got my plastic back window replaced by Als Upholstery, he did a great job
and the quality of the window seems excellent.I'm not sure if he does glass
windows though.
his e-mail address is als.upholstery@xtra.co.nz

How bad is the rear window? The one on my '91 was very badly scratched and
also had that rubbing mark along the bottom edge where the frame folds down
onto it. I used Novus Plastic Polish (#3 and then #2) on mine and it came
up really well. It probably took me a couple of hours of rubbing and
fiddling around but that stuff really does get the scratches out.

I bought mine from Moss Motors. I was buying something else at the time and
so got them to add the polish to the order as it was only US$6 or $7 a
bottle. I don't know whether you can get in NZ or not but I would have
thought that auto accessory shops would stock it. What about those Novus
windscreen repair franchises, are they part of the same Novus organisation?
