Has anyone upgraded the wiper motor for a more powerful/faster unit?
Alternatively has any noticed their wipers have slowed on older cars? Did a
new motor make much difference?
This is a very important issue in the winterless north.

Another beautiful "blue dome" day here in the Moderate South - the land of the Hump Ridge Track!.

Hi Lou,

One thing worth doing if you want to deal with rain optimally is to apply
"Rain-X" to the windscreen. You can almost do wothout wipers in most rain if
you are moving.

I just use Rain-X instead, the only time I need wipers
is when driving under 60km/h and the rain is that
fine, misty sort which doesn't bead so fast.

I'll go along with the rain-x theory, brilliant stuff. Has anyone tried it
on the rear plastic window? I don't think its recommended on the bottle but
I would be interested to hear from anyone who has...

From memory it says something like '...for glass and
plastic windows...' but I'm not going to try it on
plastic - Rain-X is some kind of acidified alcohol.
It also warns not to get it on your paint :P

The only downsides I've found is that the first few
times it wears off after a couple of weeks, but after
that it's good for a couple months. Passengers
sometimes freak out / turn on your wipers for you etc.
;)

Rain-X is available from the Warehouse quite cheaply. I swear by it.
