Glass Cleaner

Post by Keith Cook » Mon Oct 15, 2001 10:45 am

After extensive analysis (I sniffed it) of a proprietary glass cleaner I
recently finished I have come up with this mixture which works so well I
should make it up and sell it for $10.99 a 1/2 litre!
Take one old plastic spray bottle and add about so much cloudy ammonia
(Woolworths) - 4 tblsp?; about the same of IPA (isopropyl alcohol) - I think
meths would probably be as good, I just happen to have worked in a race track
film processing lab some years back. Fill with clean H2O. My spray bottle
happens to be an old glass cleaner bottle with a bit of fine gauze over the
jet which causes the mixture to foam nicely and stick to the window so I would
suggest you try to get the same or make one with a bit of petrol-filter-type
gauze if you can.
It is possible there was still a residue of secret ingredient in the bottle
so, if yours doesn't foam, add a drop of dishwasher liquid. Just "suck it and
see" - metaphorically speaking of course!
