What's happened to the List? I've received nothing for 3 days. Has the
weather suddenly turned good up North necessitating concentration on enjoying
it while it lasts at the expense of all else?

It has actually turned overcast after two weeks of perfect top down weather (in Hamilton at least) and everyone is probably too depressed to email the list. I must issue a warning of a strange new "top down" hazard encountered recently. Whilst returning home to Cowtown (after the recent northern chapters outing to the car museum) a police car came barreling up behind me in the fast lane with lights on and sirens flashing. I pulled over to let him past (because of course I am never on the wrong side of the law). About 50m ahead of me another vehicle took rather evasive action when getting out of the way of the copper and managed to somehow lose a pillow. This pillow then fell under the wheels of the car behind it and exploded into a wall of feathers that engulfed all three lanes. I was coming up close behind and when the pillow exploded I couldn't stop myself from bursting out laughing. This turned out to be a mistake, as when my car burst through the cloud of feathers the whol!
e interior filled with feathers and several were sucked into my open gob. Thankfully I kept control whilst I coughed and spluttered up all the fluffy objects from my mouth.
So if you see any exploding pillows on the motorway, do everthing you can to drive through them, but remember to learn from my mistakes and keep your gob shut.

Cheers,
Matt "this doesn't mean I'm a pillow biter" Avery.

The whole family laughed at this Matt!

Nearly had a similar feathered mishap recently when a turkey that was
sunning itself in the middle of the road decided to get up and wander to
the edge of the road, on an intersection course with the front of my MX5.
Trouble was the turkey was doing about 3 kph and I was doing about 90 kph
at the time and had nowhere to go other than into the turkey. I can now
attest to the fact that the MX5 (2000 model) has very impressive brakes. We
did hit the turkey, but by then I, too, was only doing about 3 kph and all
it did was put a slight bend in the corner of the aluminium number plate.
Phew. Turkeys are big birds. Who knows what it would have done to the front
of the car.

If you think it could be a problem change it.If it goes, you could go
^&%$# !!! , because on many occasions things go very wrong when your
water pump dies.
