does anyone know if there's a plug available that will
fit into the factory stereo connector-plug ?

TIA,
Jeff

PS - Phil, I have the owners manual (in English even!)
if that's what you're after. miata.net has all the
info you could ever want though...

Yes I have just bought one at auction on Amazon for $5 US. If you go to
amazon.com then auctions, type in mazda in the search box, then go , a list
appears with a discription and a thumb pic.
This is the email of the company I bought it from.

you could try www.crutchfield.com - they have 100s of vehicle specific
harnesses.

Car Audio installers will be able to supply. They have connectors that work
for pretty much any vehicle.

In case anyone is interested, I'm designing a new sound system to go into my
mx5. It will incorporate a custom 12" sub box for the recess in the boot (or
possibly the area that goes back in under the parcel shelf on the drivers side
and a vent), component speakers in the doors (including thin pods for angling
the mid range's) as well as getting a custom twin hoop rollbar made that will
have 2 fibreglass pods made to fit inside the humps of the rollbar to
accomodate 1 6x9 speaker in each. I will be using my current Clarion head unit
and 6 disc stacker as well as an amplifier which will be mounted in the boot
along with the subwoofer.
