Soft top coming adrift

During a recent extended trip I had to revert to using the soft top on a
number of days due to the rain. Unfortunately the weather followed me
homeward and on the last leg back south an occasional rippling flapping
sound started coming from the roof in the area just above the passenger
seat. The top had started to part company with the sleeve which houses the
tube frame that holds everything up and taut.

Does anyone know if it is possible to glue this sleeve back to the roof
fabric before it parts company right across the top??? If so what glue
should I use? I would appreciate any advice before I have a go and end up
"learning the hard way".
