hi,
I've been looking for an MP3 audio player for the car for a while & finally
decided on the Nomad Jukebox C which I bought yesterday.
http://www.nomadworld.com/products/jukebox-c/
The device holds 6GB of MP3s, over 100 CDs worth (and that's at high 128kbps
quality) and it's the size of a CD-walkman and has all the features you'd
expect, personalised play lists, sorting by album, genre, artist, random
shuffle etc...the really cool thing is you can just set it to random and it
will pick tracks out of the entire library - it's like having your own radio
station that only plays stuff you like.
You need a PC with a CD-ROM to download music from, but "ripping" CDs only
take 5-10 minutes and it's real easy to do.
Currently it's hooked into the car stereo by the normal CD-player interface
and is drawing power from the cigarette lighter. It draws 12v so I may look
into wiring it in more discretly, plus it has two lines out supporting 4
speaker surround sound, which may be worth trying .
oh yeh it cost $670, but it's very portable, so I can take it to work, on
holiday and use it in the house, so it's not just a "car" expense.
So my MX5 now has a 100 CD-stacker that fits in the glove box !!!

Where did you buy the unit from? I looked at a similar unit last year but wasn't happy with its stability/track skipping
etc.
