Indicator Conversion

Post by VIKING RACING » Mon Jun 25, 2001 7:03 pm

Hi There
I have just done zorrunos "converting indicatorlight to drivinglight" and i
just want to say the intructions is perfect and easy to follow.
The only comment I have is that the glue is TUFF I mean TUFF really hard to
get soft (i used mom4s hairdrier) and you need a lot of patiens.
But in the sake of safety it is worth it, so spend a couple of hours next
weekend and do this.

Indicator Conversion

RE : indicator conversion...

I've just converted my indicators and I'm pleased with the new look.
I don't have a heat gun or hair dryer but I do have access to copious amounts
of very hot water... so I soaked the indicators in a hanbasin... took about
two minutes for the glue to soften enough to remove the "glass".

However -
1/ Don't get interrupted during the separation process.
2/ Remove as much excess glue as possible before removing the pieces from the
basin.
3/ If the water is too hot the plastic reflectors may "whiten" in patches.
(This is noticeable if you look close after installation... I may try some
silver paint to hide the patches ).

Thanks zorruno for the instructions.

I'm about to trial 50w halogens in my brake light housings... if there are no
problems over the next week I'll post some instructions, but I want it to pass
a warrant, and not blow the battery.
( I'm tired of tail-gaters!)
