my car goes brrrrrrrr now that i have removed the guts out of the cat.
should i fit a straight through piece of pipe to where the cat is, or should

First of all, I hollowed my cat...

The noise was unbearable... So then I got a straightpipe made up for
$30.

It was better, but still had a nasty ring on over-run...

Now I have a small straight-thru resonator ($80) in the same space...
Now as quiet as with the cat again.

I honestly wish I hadnt bothered...

Fletch.

the MazdaSpeed exhaust I got (thanks to mx5mart!) has
a straight thru pipe to replace the cat and it sounds
fine - pretty mellow actually. A lot quieter than I
would've expected from an exhaust system with only a
(large) rear muffler to it's credit.

BTW, does anyone know how to add a nice italian-esque
rasp to the exhaust?
