I have a battery in my mx5 not sealed, I prefer to top it up as some sealed
batteries have a shortened life due to lack of water. I can sell them for the
$82.60.

Mazda MX5 Battery $82,60 2 year warranty
My understanding was that it was important to retain the sealed battery in the
boot because of two things...
1/ Gas from regular lead acid batteries building up in the boot is potentially
explosive. (The sealed battery has a venting tube fitted, or should do.)
2/ The acid leakage from regular batteries will, in time cause corrosion
problems in there.
Anyone got any other theories?
