Flaping soft top

My MX has a wee problem, the roof has become detached from the center rib.
The vynal cover over the rib itself has unglued, and so the roof has come
away as well, one of the guys at work told me the vynal is actually heat
welded to the rib, so once its come away it almost imposable to fix.
True or False??
Anyone had this problem?
Got any good ideas on a suitable "glue"?

So I did and they were right!

Vynal glue from a hardware shop solved my flapping roof. With the roof up
apply the glue and roll it around the bar and leave overnite to cure.
