It was a very thin even coat, so I'd be very surprised if it cracked or
peeled. I don't have the same MX5 so can't tell you how it lasts, but when I
sold it, I guess it had been on for several months with no sign of any
deterioration. From memory, I chose a semi-gloss rather than flat or gloss.
I thought flat would mark too easily, gloss wouldn't look right. It was from
Repco, and I've since thrown away the can so can't be sure it was
Plasti-Cote.
I gave the roof a really good scrub with a stiff scrubbing brush and strong
detergent first, then left it to dry overnight before the spray coat. It
took the full can to do the entire softop, with 2 thin coats - I masked the
edges and the entire window section off first. End result was an even,
semigloss dark black.
