Water pumps etc.

I put out a question a while back about noises that seem to be coming from my
water pump. I'm not sure it's the water pump. It seems to rattle when cold ,
then quietens down when warm.
I got a couple of replies to my query, but was in the process of changing
operating systems on my p.c. and changing my isp. Between the two I've lost
the replies I received.

Can I get the water pump out (as I'm going to replace it tommorow) without
removing the power steering pump?
Any ideas appreciated.
