Gary,

I have some factory 14's with tyres you can borrow.

But the tyres are pretty far gone. one pair might be borderline legal.

But they are free, as long as I get the rims back...some-time.

I sold the tyres to Karl. And seing they were mounted on my rims, I let him
look after the rims for me! He's just bought new tyres, and had them fitted
to his own rims, so now I've got them back, with near bald tyres on them!
:-)

Maybe you'll find a solution closer to home? Or one with more tread.

Fletch.

Gary,
I am guessing these are needed to hold the car up while repairs are made?
I have some 14 inch steels that you are welcome to have. I can also probably
arrange worn out tyres to put on them. Wheels are brand new.
I am working on the weight .
Cheers

Hi there
A bit of advice please, I just bought a set of 16x7" wheels 2nd hand with
stuffed tires. The question is should I go for 40 or 45 profile 195 or 205 on
the tires? Anyone with experience?
But at the same time I4m not sure if I keep them as I feel they dominates over
the Beautiful design of the Car, but maybe I get used to it.(It is a set of
ENKEI Lucky star with red anodized center, BOYD designtype)

John,

Two questions...

1/ What offset?

2/ How heavy?

Both factors have the potential to ruin the handling of your car.

John,
Did they come off a MX5? before you buy tyres i would put them on and see if they
touch anything,
As Gary says you must know what the offset is, they need to be between +35mm to +40mm,
either side of this and you risk hitting the suspension and the front wings when
turning, and sometimes they will hit the rear wings under hard cornering,
I'm not sure if 40 profile is easy to come by, i dont know of anyone using 40 profile
tyres, but no doubt someone will let us know, most of us with 16" wheels are using
205x45, which puts the speedo out by about 100rpm at 100kph.
