engine tower brace

Post by zorruno » Tue Apr 24, 2001 3:45 pm

I've just got a shock tower brace for my engine bay.

I haven't looked at fitting it yet, but I assume that it is just an 'unbolt
shock mount bolts', 'fit', then 'rebolt' affair. Anything else I need to
know? Anyone have torque settings for these bolts?

there is a bolt halfway up one of the brace mounts going horizontally toward
the engine - what would this be for?

torque settings? Didn't use them for my brace installation...
I'd suggest you make sure it fits before installing it. I had to hammer (gently) the last brace bolt through the mount
holes , with the brace bar adjusted as tight as I could get it.

Don't know about a bolt halfway up a mount : what brand brace did you buy? Mine was a "Mazda" from Mazspares in Rosebank
Rd ($85)

Good luck with it.
