Derek-
I did this job last year on my car - once I removed the three retaining bolts/screws and discovered the double-sided
tape, I used a scalpel to separate the spoiler from the tape, soaked the tape in meths, and picked it off slowly with my
fingernails. This took about two hours.
The new spoiler was installed with double sided tape for cushioning, but I left the backing on the boot side intact,
so removal will be a lot easier.

Removing a spoiler
Removing a spoiler
Hi all,
There is a standard MX5 spoiler on the rear of my car that I would
like to remove.
Has anyone out there had experience of doing such things?
The spoiler is attached to the bonnet with a very thick piece of
double-sided tape.
It may just pull off but want to be sure that I won't take the paint
work off the bonnet with it.
Cheers.. Derek.
