OXIDATION

Hi there
I am doing what the professionals call VALET detailing, I call it a proper
cleanup off the "lady", she have collected allot of dirt and other things
during her 11 years.
1.I have now reached the valvecover a pretty neglected part, heaps of
oxidation and it looks ``vrk`.On the motorcycles I have had I used AUTOSOL and
allot of elbow grease to clean it up, but maybe it is an easier way?! Any
ideas out there.

2.I have noticed on the JAP imports, if you have look under them at the car
yards they seems to be brand new even if they are 5-8 years old, what is the
secret the Japs/Importers use to get it so clean?

To answer your first question. My valve cover was very ``vrk` too
(whatever that means). I did spend many hours with elbow grease and
Autosol, but the results were pretty unsatisfactory. In the end I took
it into a metal polishing place (on Kyber pass Rd, Auckland) and they
polished it up for about $60.

Now it's very ``krv` (which I think is the exact opposite of `vrk`` )


You can use engine degreasant and a stiff brush if you just want it
clean instead of shiney and chrome like.

PS have you got a swedish character set or something?
