Hi, all
I am about to buy a 1990 MX5 (this weekend) although I have seen and driven
the car I dont think that it was supplied with speakers in the drivers seat. I
am sure that the seats are the originals, was this an extra accessory or
standard on all cars ??
Thanks,

Jim,
The speakers were standard in the Japanese market and so most used mx5s in
New Zealand will have them. MX5 that were sold new in New Zealand and
Britain (and most likely Australia too) didn't have these at all, not even
as an option. Instead they had a different stereo that was an optional
extra.
You can easily check to see if they are fitted. When you look at the
headrest there is a seam that runs round the top of it. If you put your
finger in there you will feel a zip. Just open it and have a look.
