hard top prices

Hi Deanne

Its rotton when you feel like someone is trying to rip you off. Try a
member of your own club !!!
The MX5 list is, I believe , one of the best ways to find information .
The people (generally) have a great knowledge and love for the cars we drive
, and while all are not mechanics (i assume), sometimes I find they have
better information than a mechanic who is'nt specialised in MX5's.

cheers

matt

OK I'm back.

There have been about 6 for sale on the club web site over the past year.
They ranged from $1200 to $2200. Granted they are all second hand, but you
should get one in excellent condition for $2k. There are a couple for sale
on the site now for under $2000.

You may have to get it painted to match your car - add $200-$600 depending
on quality of paint job.

Some have padded lining inside and a demisted rear window, so they will prob
be more expensive.

I paid $1000 for mine with padding and demister - still needs a paint and
touch up though.

And in answer to your question - yes. It is Normal. They are a Mazda
Dealer.

Hi D.
They are daft! They must be quoting Mercedes prices. Mine is still
available if you need one. Kevin.

zorruno just be quiet!!!... Now Deanna --------- me and a few other
members have used hard tops that are in excellent condition, come in a
variety of colours, and that we would be more than happy to part with for
$5,500 saving you over 30% from what the dealer is asking ------- and that
includes installation and a big smerk... I mean smile:)))

Need I say more

Look in the for sale section of the Club website. You should be able to get
one second hand for considerably less...

That was the price for the hard top only and it did not include any
type of installation or extras. Maybe it had 24 karat gold trim??

Thanks for all your help guys. I'm sure the dealer saw me coming
a mile away. Great to know I can get some sound advice from
fellow MX5 owners. Since I've had my MX5 I have had two soft tops
stabbed and one mechanic from the North Shore charge me $90.00
for looking (not touching or fixing) at the suspension. It's not easy
being mechanically challenged!!
