Looking for a merlot coloured mx5 (not the millennium model).
Have seen 2 with 1 person claiming it is a 98 the other claiming it's a 97.
Checked our mx5 web site archives to find dated listings for both a 98 and
a 97 merlot ltd.
Can anyone enlighten me, as I thought that 98 started the new shape. Also
anyone have any idea what one of these should sell for? (I realise #kms
will be a price factor)
Regards
Bill

Merlot: 97 or 98?
The merlot with in the old shape was '97... I beleive 25 were imported by
Mazda NZ, but if it took a while to sell, it may have been first registered
in '98 ?
I dont know which years the merlot was offered in Japan?
No idea of price...
Fletch.

Merlot: 97 or 98?
Thx guys.
Both were NZ new = no air conditioning.
Any ideas how much it would cost to install air conditioning in one of them? (I don't like humid Auckland summers)

Merlot: 97 or 98?
Hi! If this is the car I think it is, it is a 97 model, but was only
registered in April or May 98. So it is the old shape, but LTSA call it a
98. It used to belong to a Christchurch Club member who treated it very
well and never drove it hard (he was one of our more "mature" members, but
he got "too long in the tooth" for an MX5, so bought a Harley instead. He
sold it to Derek in Dunedin whom I feel would have driven it harder than the
previous owner. He has only had it for a year or so - if that. Lovely
colour! I believe it is an M-series.

Thanks for this Kate
Sounds right based on what the current owner shared with me - my wife
thinks the merlot colour is more a "woman's colour" ---- I won't comment
