RE; flash to pass

Post by Phil McArthur » Tue Oct 01, 2002 12:25 pm

Thanks Grant for giving me the impetus to finally go and buy the bit and do
this- took about ten minutes- well worthwhile. Any similarly easy mod to keep
black paintwork looking clean...

I added a 3amp diode from DSE to my MX5 at the weekend for the flash to pass
mod. Works well and very easy worthwhile mod.
Cost less than a dollar.
Still haven't modified the windows to work with the key off yet. Hope to do
that today.

Grant in Sunny Blenheim.

What exactly is this "flash to pass" thing??

M@

ps- the only cure for black paintwork is a repaint, in yellow or silver ;.)

Pre something (?93) roadsters are not equipped with the circuit to 'pop' the
lights with high beam on; a simple diode added the a plug under the steering
column cowling means you can pull back on the indicator stalk for the 'flash'.
Instructions are on Miata.net in the garage, and the most useful set are the
last lot by an Australian contributor complete with photos.

Phil (what a shame there isn't a recognised symbol for 'hil' I could use after
my P)
