re[2]: Suspension Repairs/spring modifications.

I had the same problem on my old car. The springs were at the correct ends of the car yet the front was much lower than the back. I have since seen (and heard about) quite a few other mx5's with similar setups. In my case (and I presume most others) the springs were aftermarket ones so all I can think is that the hotrod look was in fashion amoungst Japanese mx5 drivers. These Japanese aftermarket springs also tend to be extremely firm. I'm told Japanese roads are very well maintained and have nothing at all in common with NZ's third world goat tracks. I gave up on them in the end and replaced them with some King springs which gave me about a 25mm drop all the way around, were quite firm (yet not unbearably so) and cost about $400 installed.

I can vouch for that, their roads are pretty damn sweet but If u want to
go on the highways it costs u an arm and a leg.
I could never get over how many Japanese 'suped' up their cars when the
speed limit around town (in Kyoto anyhow) never went about 60km/h.
